Back Health

Don’t Sit Still: Promoting Back Health While Seated.

Research has found that 75 percent of work in industrialised countries is performed while seated (Pynt et al, 2008). Some workers sit for long periods of time while others get out of their chairs at least a couple of times per hour. Either way, it is important for all workers to understand how to keep their back healthy while seated and how appropriate seating and movement can help avoid lower back discomfort and support proper back health.

Sitting will likely remain a posture found in the work environment for many years to come, so it’s important to know how to keep your back healthy while seated.

This paper created by Haworth looks at the effects of seating for extended periods of time and what we can do to combat them –  Promoting Back Health

Sit Well – Work Well – Feel Well

"I don’t want to deal with a sales rep, I want to deal with a relationship manager who has a genuine interest in our organisation and who sees value to me in offering solutions, not value in it for themselves. That’s Europlan."
